The Call
Hello?
Have you slept?
No, you?
No. Is that a bad thing?
Probably. Where are you?
Headed for the airport.
When’s your flight?
3. Chloe?
Yes?
How did you do it?
Do what?
Get wrapped around my brain so quickly.
I’m gifted that way.
Indeed. What about a…
I’d love to.
You don’t even know what I’m going to ask.
Doesn’t matter. When?
Tomorrow morning? Say, 10 AM?
Perfect.
Have you ever been to Southern City?
Nope.
We’ll have to remedy that. Is this too much too soon? I mean, are you okay with calls and flowers and strangers wanting to whisk you away?
Just enough, great timing and I’m not opposed to being whisked away.
I have to tell you something. (Long pause) Chloe?
You’re really married? You’re a serial killer? You’re gay?
None of the above.
Okay, then what is it? Don’t worry, if you’re secretly a billionaire, I won’t hold it against you.
(He laughs)
Remember that time I asked you for coffee?
Yes? And I said no.
Yah. You broke my heart, but, I’ll mend. Well, every-time I come to the city, I come to Restaurant where you work, to see you. Its not the food.
That thought crossed my mind, but I didn’t want to seem presumptuous or egotistical.
I should be afraid of you.
Yes. I’m viscious. Didn’t Molly tell you?
You are. You’ve visciously wrapped yourself around my brain, and I can’t stop thinking about you.
Its a mutual dilema.
Is it? Really?
Yes.
I’m here. I have to go.
Ok.
Chloe, I will see you in 150 hours. And when I do, I’m going to kiss you, for a long time.
Only if I don’t kiss you first.
